Namma Chennai

After more than a year this week has been a real eye opener for me.

Uptil now the my stay in chennai was marred with pathetic food(by now sambhar flows in my body not blood... ), not so good weather, and full of tamil words (which seems more like jalebi to me.. ). I always thought that people in chennai only knows how to work but not to enjoy.

Forgive me but I had my own reasons to believe it. There were no parties thrown in the office as compared to other cities , no huge celebrations on diwali. In fact the area where I live didn't had a single house decorated forget crackers.

But christmas seems to have changed things here.. This week has been totally against what I been used to in here. Office has been decorated, big celebrations going on since last few days even though christmas is yet to arrive. Funny games are being organized and people actively participate.

It was both funny as well heartning to see my simple and modest supervisor giving roses to all the girls in the office (who by the way is married. :) ). While I am writing this a girl is being given a task to take nine turns clockwise and anticlockwise around the christmas tree and then distribute Prasadam of Cadbury in the whole office.Even the most shy guy in the office tried to greet merry christmas and new year in Rajnikanth style.

People are enjoying the holidays and the christmas spirit is everywhere. Now I have realised that people here are simple but still shares the same spirit of life. There are positives to be seen here also. Its just that there ways are different. Now after more than a year I can also say “Namma Chennai (It is our chennai )”.

The search

Everyday we all wake and get ourself immersed in our own tasks and day to day routine. Sometimes it is some materialistic things we yearn for and sometimes for a lonely night with only the nature around. But have we ever wondered what is it that whatever we desire today may or may not be the things or emotions we may desire tomorrow. So how do we get to know what we really believe in.

I think a state of extreme happiness, difficulties or a situation of shock , is the kind of situation that brings us closest to what we desire the most.

Only if we could identify what we really want in our life, then can we live a purposeful life..

My journey for that desire goes on…

VOTE INDIA VOTE

"It is our choices...that show what wetruly are, far more than our abilities"
- J. K. Rowling

These words by J.K. Rowling are true to its core in today’s scenario…

World’s largest democracy is having the biggest elections in the human history. Yes its time to vote. Its time that we have a say in the way our country is run. It is time to make our choices.
It may be easy to say that there is no perfect candidate to vote for. Then why should we waste our vote. But atleast it is better to make a choice than to remain aloof and predict the doomsday.
The candidates might not be perfect , but as they “No one is perfect... that's why pencils have erasers. ”.

It takes celebrities and media to make people aware of their right to duty. But its not just a right its also a duty as a true indian citizen.
So let us take a pledge that we shall vote and vote for a better tomorrow………

The Transition

When you start your transition from a college graduate into a corporate envoirnment , there are lots of unanswered questions in mind. You depart from your loved ones so that you can reach a greator horizon..To make a mark for yourself in the world i.e To find your own identity in this large ocean.

This was what I thought when I first left my hometown. Homesickness soon engulfed me in the initial days of my training. But as the days went by I realized one thing.Only when you move on, only then you will find new and interesting people. People with totally different mindsets, attitudes and background interact with you. Of course you will detest a few but will definitely someone whom you will finally gel with. This is the beauty of life.
Then the time moves fast with some really cherishing moments during the journey. You keep on remembering your good old college days and still enjoy the new life that has come your way.
But by the time you realize that those people you just met a few days ago have now become your friends, life again changes its tracks. The time to depart from them arrives and you have to get ready to move on…
